Amara and Alek’s Sunset MonaLisa wedding by Dazzle Em’ Event Design was a textbook example of perfect planning, attention to detail and just the right amount of spontaneity. We were lucky enough to shoot both photo and video, giving us complete creative control!
Our day began at Casa Amistad, a luxury villa located in the gated community of Pedregal, a favorite of Hollywood A-listers, the rich and famous. Amara entrusted Cabo’s premier bridal stylist Neysa Berman with her hair and makeup, opting for a natural, paired back look with statement eyelashes to complement her fairy princess-inspired gown. What a gown it was! Baroque lace, stunning champagne underlay and high-waisted skirt with a dramatic train, the dress was just the right combination of traditional and whimsical. Amara chose a jewel-encrusted headpiece, signature jewelry, and gold heels to complete her look, and her girl’s clearly approved.
Alek and Amara certainly have an eye for color and refused to shy away from strong, dramatic tones. Alek chose a tailored, deep red, 3 piece suit, a very James Bond-esque look. His groomsmen were nothing short of spectacular in plush navy blue and crisp white, while the bridesmaid’s shade of rosy pink added some pastel to the mix. All in all, one very good looking bridal party.
With our main players ready we headed to the iconic Sunset MonaLisa restaurant, located high above Misiones Beach. Amara and wedding planner Katie Thompson created a romantic ceremony setup, framing the enticing blues of the Sea of Cortez with a dark wooden chuppah and a statement arrangement of creamy white flowers and greenery. The bridesmaid’s bouquets added a touch of the dramatic to an otherwise classical setting, combining bold shades of red and contrasting greenery in a bohemian inspired cascade style. In their reception space, deep red roses and protea popped against neutral linens, and accents of gold tied the tablescapes together. Kudos to Lazy Gourmet for their gorgeous florals and decor, as well as Cabo Cakes, who created a lavish, two-tiered cake which was all types of buttercreamy perfection.
We are in love the natural rock formations and rolling waves of Misiones beach, but it takes a brave couple to make the long walk down to the shore. With gorgeous sunset lighting and an impressive view of Land’s End calling us, we were able to sneak Alek and Amara away for a few private moments. The intimate portraits we captured were well worth the treck.
Formalities complete, hungry guests fed and quite a few cocktails served, it was time to dance. The bridal party kicked things off before Amara and Alek let loose with some impressive moves. With the sun down for the evening and the Cabo San Lucas lights twinkling, guests farewelled the newlyweds with sparklers, the perfect final photo opportunity!
Congratulations Alek and Amara! Your images were a beautiful addition to our portfolio and we hope you enjoy them for many happy years to come.
