What do you do when your birthday rolls around? Send out a Facebook invite to 10 of your nearest and dearest, throw together a cheese platter and clean off your back patio? Not this client. Lisa hired local event-genius Karla Casillas to create a banging birthday bash in sunny Cabo San Lucas, with views, food, and entertainment to rival a Hollywood affair. With (thankfully!) so many weddings on our calendar, throwing a birthday party into the mix gets our creative juices flowing, and working with this dream team of vendors was, as always, inspiring. This was one Los Cabos birthday party that we simply had to feature!
Planning a successful destination event, whether a wedding, birthday party or anniversary celebration, requires expert eyes and ears on the ground, a true artist to turn your many ideas into a cohesive reality. The team at Karla Casillas & Co whipped this weekend into gear, choosing the spectacular Villa Vista Ballena as home base! This awe-inspiring private villa is located alongside the 17th and 18th holes of the renowned Cabo del Sol golf course, boasting panoramic ocean views and imposing hacienda-style architecture. The abundance of terrace space and landscaped gardens are the perfect place in which to sit and take in one of Cabo’s famous sunsets. As Lisa recognized right away, Villa Vista Ballena really is the epitome of luxury travel.
To welcome guests and get the good vibes rolling, personality-packed Lisa hosted a bright, colorful and wacky welcome party with a kitschy Mexican theme. A beautifully staged tequila bar and practical sunscreen station were just two of the quirky details that made this event so special. When it came to decor, the team at The Main Event Cabo left no stone unturned. Vibrant pops of fuschia, yellow, pink, blue and purple exploded against the earthy, wooden tables and chairs, while funky piñatas and papel picado provided that whimsical touch. We adored the cream and wicker lounge sets accented with gorgeous, embroidered cushions.
The following day, we weren’t sure how they were going to top that welcome party, but top it they did. The Main Event Cabo swapped brights for lights, dressing the rustic wooden tables with woven runners, pastel arrangements and ever so elegant touches of gold. Hungry party goers chowed down on a smorgasbord of deliciousness from El Itakate catering, whose attention to taste, presentation and service standards is unrivaled. Rounding out our list of extraordinary vendors was the fabulous and in-demand Kilometro band, whose mix of old and new kept Lisa’s friends and family on the dance floor well into the evening.
We adored every moment of this weekend-long Los Cabos birthday party celebrating everything Lisa, and wish her many more celebrations to come!
