We like to call Emily, Lance, their family and friends the group that kept on dancing! Their warm and sunny August wedding was hosted at Cabo Azul Resort, a serene, contemporary property located on the sandy shores of the Sea of Cortez in San Jose del Cabo. The resorts visual aesthetic invites creativity and inspiration and is always a pleasure to shoot. While we are 100% positive that Emily and Lance, along with their super talented wedding planner Cynthia Salcedo, put many painstaking hours of work into planning this amazing celebration down to the last detail, they made it look fun, fabulous and downright effortless come D day!
We got to work capturing the details as this good looking couple got ready! Always sure to have a second camera man onsite we chose to divide ourselves between the bridal suite and the groom’s digs, capturing all of the tiny moments that go into creating the perfect wedding look. Always the consummate professionals, the Blanc Bridal Salon team was onsite to turn the already beautiful Emily into a modern-day princess. Her relaxed, half up half down do with soft, shoulder-length waves and natural makeup was oh so Cabo, allowing her mermaid-cut gown with circular train and intricate lace embellishments to take its place in the spotlight. Keeping in tune with the natural beauty of Los Cabos, Emily chose to keep her bouquet simple, opting for white roses and cascading green foliage (great work Flowers and Events!). Not willing to let the girls steal all of the limelight, Lance and his boys looked sharp and on point in navy blue 3 pieces, and our groom’s unique, pitch black wedding band was a welcome move away from the traditional.
When it comes to weddings at Cabo Azul, less really is more! Emily and Lance opted for a simple ceremony performed by Emily´s Brother in the resort’s famous wedding chapel, foregoing an abundance of costly flowers and decorations in favor of showcasing Los Cabos’ picture perfect ocean views and jaw-dropping horizon. We were touched by the outpouring of love and well wishes from their guests, and were sure to capture as many of the hugs, kisses and happy tears as possible. Post ceremony, we took Emily and Lance to the beach for their first session as husband and wife. Emily kicked off her shoes, Lance let loose and magic happened!
Come reception time, guests welcomed our dancing bridal party into Cabo Azul’s Javier’s restaurant, as DJ Roberto Contreras took care of the announcements. After an award-worthy, 5 star meal, a sweet first dance and many a heartfelt toast it was time to dance, and this group needed little to no encouragement to keep on moving.
We say this a lot, but thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the stellar wedding vendors and location staff who helped make Emily and Lance’s dream a reality. You make our job so much easier, and it is ALWAYS a pleasure.
